About

ImageConverter.pro is a collection of free tools for working with images: converting between formats, compressing, resizing, cropping and editing. There is nothing to install, no account to create, and nothing to pay.

Why it exists

Image files cause a surprising amount of everyday frustration. A phone saves photos in a format a computer will not open. A form rejects a file for being the wrong type or too large. A logo needs to become an icon, or a screenshot needs to become a PDF. The tools to fix these problems are often buried in paid software, cluttered with pop-ups, or quietly upload files without saying what happens to them.

This site aims to do the job simply and to be straightforward about how it does it.

How your files are handled

Almost every tool does its work on our server, so that it works the same on every phone and computer; the two that only look at an image, the metadata viewer and the colour picker, run on your own device and never upload it. On the server, your upload is deleted as soon as it has been processed, and the result once you download it. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.

How the pages are written

Every tool has its own page explaining what the conversion actually does: what improves, what is lost, and when a different tool would serve you better. We try hard to make those explanations accurate rather than persuasive.

That means testing claims before publishing them. File sizes quoted on a page are measured, not estimated. Statements about what survives a conversion — transparency, animation, colour depth, metadata — are checked against real files. When checking has shown a page to be wrong, the page has been corrected. If you find something on the site that is not accurate, please tell us.

What it is not

These are practical tools, not professional image-editing software. For detailed retouching, colour management for commercial printing, or working with camera RAW files, dedicated desktop software will serve you better — and where that is the case, the relevant page says so.
